Hungary Finale for TOYO TIRES 24hr Series

The first ever 12 hour race in Hungary took place at the weekend, September 27. And what a race it turned out to be with drama throughout, the lead changing hands throughout the race and finally a BMW Z4M taking the top slot on the podium ahead of two Porsche RSR's. The number 52 car of Schubert Motorsport won the race after 12 gruelling hours but not before the Porsche RSR oif JetAlliance had set the fastest lap of the race.

The drama commenced even before the race did. The number 888 car of the Audi CR8 team qualified 4th but in the morning warm up lost both the engine and clutch. Although unable to start, the team battled for 9 1/2 hours to replace the engine and clutch finally appearing on track to rapturous applause deep in to the night.
