Team Dakar USA Hummer hits 5th place in Dakar

Robby Gordon has taken third place in todays special from Mendoza to Valparaiso, Chile. This magnificent result againt the mighty factory teams takes the TOYO TIRES Hummer to 5th place overall. Gordon was forced to slow after encountering mud in dry lake bed but still finished just 4 minutes 13 seconds behind stage winner, Carlos Sainz.
The route was shortened due to the difficulties encountered on the last section of dunes in the yesterday’s special. Today’s stage was abbreviated from 419 km to roughly 243 km, moving the finish line to the initially planned Checkpoint 1.
In another stellar performance, teammates Eric Vigouroux and Alex Winocq finished seventh in the second Hummer.
Tomorrow the competitors have a rest day before racing resumes on Sunday, January 11th.
