Planica huge success

TOYO TIRES, together with Slovenian distributor, Span, sponsored the final round of the FIS World Cup Ski Jumping Championship. The final, which takes place in Planica on the “flying hill” was attended by record crowds who saw Harri Olli from Finland jump to first place with an incredible 219.5m second jump. Polish jumper Adam Malysz led after the first round and was “Man of the Day” with two heroic jumps of 210metres.
2009 is the second year of sponsorship for Span and TOYO TIRES. With flags flying behind the tribunes and banners in the landing area also covered on TV, the sponsorship had a spectacular impact. The event is wildly popular in Slovenia, being the biggest sporting event of the year and even the President of the country attended such is the importance of the event.
In addition to the visible publicity, all the VIPs and officials were issued passes with keycords bearing the TOYO TIRES and Span logos on them. President and owner of TOYO TIRES distributor in Slovenia, Mr Span also awarded trophies to the winners.
With a record attendance for the event, up from 50.000 to 64.000 and 18.000 watching the final live, Planica was a big success story for both Span and TOYO TIRES.
