World first for Proxes Ne
16.04.2009
Neuss, Germany – Toyo Tire Europe GmbH (President Kanji Kasai) introduce the new Proxes Ne, an environmental tire with an extremely low rolling resistance. However, environmental performance is not just about reducing fuel consumption of the tire when in use; it also means reducing carbon emissions during manufacturing. In a world first, TOYO TIRES Proxes Ne uses recycled polyester carcass ply.
Developed by Teijin Fibers Limited, Ecocircle fibres are used in the cords of the Proxes Ne carcass. This recycled material, along with a 15% reduction in rolling resistance compared to Proxes CF1, make the Proxes Ne one of the most environmentally friendly products on the road.
However, despite its outstanding contribution to the environment, Proxes Ne is first and foremost an excellent tire, offering a range of benefits to drivers.
• Proxes Ne has excellent wet handling thanks to use of proprietary development technologies used by TOYO TIRES such as T-mode. Wide circumferential grooves, open shoulder slits, multiwave sipes and an optimised casing profile combine to give the tire its wet weather performance.
• Proxes Ne is a very quiet running tire thanks to technologies including silent wall grooves, a noise protection layer within the tire and a variable pitch tread pattern.
• Proxes Ne also offers good ride comfort through various groove technologies and high density sipes.
• Proxes Ne has two tread pattern designs based on the tire profile. 55 Series tires and lower feature an additional circumferential band of rubber in the centre of the tread.
