Open Country M/T-R off-road racing tire launched

Toyo Tire Europe GmbH have launched the Open Country M/T-R off-road race tire in Europe. Initially the tire is available in the most popular size for rally raid competitors, 235/85 R 16.
Open Country M/T-R has been developed for European applications over the last two years including participating in high profile Rally Raids. Last year, Artur Ardavichus, in his Technosport Nissan Patrol, used Open Country M/T-R on his way to winning the T2 class of the FIA World Cup of Cross Country rallies.
More recently, Team Dakar USA used Open Country M/T-R tires to finish third in the Dakar rally while Pro-System Racing used Open Country M/T-R tires to finish 7th in the Tunisia rally having suffered not even one puncture on the way. In both cases, the teams were up against factory cars and giant budgets.
Open Country M/T-R has several significant benefits for off road racers.
• The tire can tolerate very low inflation pressure necessary to navigate soft terrain. The ability to control the car in such severe conditions without losing the tire was a key requirement of racers.
• Open Country M/T-R is very robust, it can resist damage that might necessitate a stop for replacement on a different tire.
• Open Country M/T-R has excellent endurance, lasting much longer than competing brands tested. For the typical off-road racer, the ability to use the tire for longer will save their overall budget.
• Open Country M/T-R performs excellently in heavy sand and dunes. Many off-road racers will have at least one visit to Africa in their career. With TOYO TIRES, they wont need to buy a different spec.
