TOYO TIRES tested at VLN Nürburgring race
25.08.2009
Osaka, Japan - 21 August, 2009 – Toyo Tire & Rubber Co., Ltd. (President and CEO: Kenji Nakakura) announce that TOYO TIRES will participate in the next round of the VLN at the Nürburgring continuing their race tire development programme.
As in the recent Millenium Merdeka race at Sepang, the “Lammertink Racing with TOYO TIRES” team will be working with TOYO engineers to further develop their race tires. No strangers to racing, Lammertink are a fiercely competitive team who will also be looking to achieve the highest place possible on the new spec tires in addition to their development role. Using their Porsche 997 GT3 race car fitted with 245/640R18 front tires and 285/680R18 rears, Lammertink will be battling against the very experienced “Ringmeisters” of the VLN series. Lammertink will use Proxes RS1 if the conditions are dry with Proxes RR1 wets available if it rains.
Held on August 29th, the RCM DMV Grenzlandrennen is the seventh round of the ten race VLN series. It is a well established round, being the 32nd time the Rheydter Club für Motorsport have held the race and is expected to feature more than 190 teams. This year’s VLN series has seen close racing and after six rounds, the series is still wide open. As a result, Lammertink, with less experience at the Nürburgring than most VLN competitors, expect four hours of very challenging racing.
