Dakar Rally Cancelled

After an upbeat press conference where all three TOYO sponsored teams outlined their goals for the 2008 Dakar, it is 99% certain the race will be cancelled. Terrorist activity in Mauritania last month had increased security concerns but until today, the race organisers were claiming the situation was not going to affect the race. A formal announcement was made at 12.00 GMT today from the A.S.O. confirming the cancellation of the race but with all technical checks already stopped it was virtually certain the race would be cancelled for 2008.
