Japantag 2018 - German-Japanese festival

The 17th Japantag known as unique German-Japanese festival took place in the city centre of Düsseldorf on 26th of May. This event is organised by Stadt Düsseldorf and its Japanese community and expresses the relation between those two countries.
Year by year, hundreds of thousands of people come from Germany and its neighbouring countries to be part of this festival. 600.000 friends of the Japanese culture celebrated the 17th Japantag.
Throughout the entire city centre of Düsseldorf, the spectators are entertained by the German-Japanese orchestra, various martial arts performances attract and many more. The grand finale of the day is the biggest Japanese firework in Europe.
As sponsor of this event, Toyo Tires was also present. A booth was shared with Fortuna Düsseldorf in the direct vicinity of the Rhine promenade. The sunny weather attracted many people to visit Toyo Tires booth. Giveaways such as lanyards, sweets, chopsticks with Toyo branding and a soft toy version of the Japanese Toyo mascot "Wakkuma" were distributed to the audience.
